National Staff Serves Local Community

National Staff participate in "Day of Caring" JR Whinery, Ryan Beaty, Doug Marsh, Jim Allen, and John Hicks

Following Paul’s admonition in Galatians 5:13 to “serve one another in love,” members of the national Royal Rangers team had a unique opportunity earlier this summer to reach beyond their four walls and impact the local community. The local agency the national team worked with assists adult women with developmental disabilities. They consider it their calling to minister to their residents by meeting their physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs.

They kept the national team busy with a variety of tasks, including washing windows, painting, and cleaning out their garage. By the time the agency’s van was cleaned (inside and out), it looked practically brand new! They appreciated the work done by the national team, which will allow them to concentrate more of their efforts on ministering to their residents!

National Director Doug Marsh said, “It was great getting out into the community as a team. We had fun! Our work was also very encouraging to the staff and residents at the home, and we learned a lot, too! Of the six residents in the home, only two have any involvement on the part of their families. Showing them that we cared and that Jesus cares even when others might not was so rewarding! These are the kind of life experiences and insights boys and young men gain as we lead them into the community to serve and show God’s love.”
