Leaders Awards

The following is a brief description of the various medals and awards available to Royal Rangers to honor boys and leaders for their service to the program.  Some of these awards may be earned annually according to a specific list of requirements.  Others are presented in recognition of special acts or terms of service.  For more informaton specific to each award please refer to the award applications available for viewing or download from our Resources page.

Please note that this list does not include awards associated with the boy's advancement system or the training programs (adult and junior).  Information on those awards may be found on the advancement and training pages of this site, respectively.

 

Medal of Valor

This medal and ribbon is given when a boy or leader has saved a life at the risk of his own. The national director must give approval for the award.

National Medal of Merit

The medal of merit is given to Royal Rangers boys and adult leaders. They are for individuals who have demonstrated exemplary effort and commitment to Royal Rangers. The National Medal of Merit is awarded by and at the discretion of the national Royal Rangers director.

Medal of Courage

This medal and ribbon is given to any boy or leader who saves a life or helps in saving a life but does not actually risk his own life in doing so.

Flame of Honor

This honor is given by the national Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship chairman and president to individuals who have demonstrated unselfish acts of service and devotion to the purposes of Royal Rangers.

RRA Lifetime Service Award

This award is given by the national Royal Rangers Alumni chairman and president to individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime of service to Royal Rangers. 

National Outstanding Service Award

The National Outstanding Service Award is given to both boys and adult leaders. They are awarded to individuals for recognition of outstanding service to Royal Rangers. The National Outstanding Service Medal is awarded by the national Royal Rangers office at the discretion of the national director.

Missions Project Award

Awarded to individuals who have participated in any denominationally approved home or international missions trip or project lasting a minimum of five days excluding travel.

District Medal of Merit

The medal of merit is given to Royal Rangers boys and adult leaders. They are for individuals who have demonstrated exemplary effort and commitment to Royal Rangers. The District Medal of Merit is awarded by and at the discretion of the district Royal Rangers director.  (available fall 2009)

District Outstanding Service Award

The District Outstanding Service Award is given to both boys and adult leaders. They are awarded to individuals for recognition of outstanding service to Royal Rangers. The District Outstanding Service Medal is awarded by the district at the discretion of the district director.

Pastor's Award

The Pastor's Award is awarded to pastors in recognition for their support of the Royal Rangers outpost. The senior commander or the outpost council can confer the medal on the pastor.

Outpost Coordinator's Award

This medal is for outpost coordinators who have demonstrated outstanding ability in achieving the goals of the Royal Rangers ministry.

Outpost Leadership Award

The Outpost Leadership Award is for group commanders who have demonstrated outstanding ability in achieving the goals of the Royal Rangers ministry.

Outpost Service Award

The Outpost Service Award is a special achievement award for outpost leaders such as assistant commanders, chaplains, and outpost council members (other than group commanders) who have demonstrated outstanding service in achieving the goals of the overall Royal Rangers
ministry.

Junior Leaders Service Award

This award is for junior commanders, senior patrol leaders, assistant senior patrol leaders, and patrol leaders who have demonstrated outstanding ability in achieving the goals of the Royal Rangers ministry. Applicants must be at least eleven years of age and have earned the Adventure Rangers Bronze Medal of Achievement or Expedition Rangers E1 Award.

Special Service Award

Any leader from outpost to national level can present this award. Its purpose is to honor individuals eighteen or older who have made significant contributions, service, or support to the Royal Rangers ministry. The award may be given to Royal Rangers leader or to people outside of the organization.

District Leadership Award

The District Leadership Award is an annual award available to all district leaders in non-executive positions presented in recognition of thier service to Royal Rangers during the specified twelve-month period.  This award replaces the Blue Cluster Award and Gold Cluster Award.

District Executive Leadership Award

The District Executive Leadership Award is an annual award available to all executive-level district leaders presented in recognition of thier service to Royal Rangers during the specified twelve-month period.  This award replaces the Silver Cluster Award and Silver Eagle Award.

National Leadership Award

The National Leadership Award is an annual award available to all national and regional leaders in non-executive positions presented in recognition of thier service to Royal Rangers during the specified twelve-month period.  This award replaces the Gold Eagle Award.

National Executive Leadership Award

The National Executive Leadership Award is an annual award available to all executive-level national leaders presented in recognition of thier service to Royal Rangers during the specified twelve-month period.  This award replaces the Gold Star Award.
